1. Overview

MailCraft AI is a Chrome Extension that generates business emails using AI. The AI model runs entirely within your browser using WebGPU/WASM technology. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

MailCraft AI collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Profile information: Your name and job title, used to personalize generated emails
• App settings: Language preference, theme, and other configuration options
• Usage counter: Daily generation count for free tier management

All data is stored using chrome.storage.local and never leaves your device.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Email content (generated emails are not stored anywhere)
• Browsing history or web activity
• Location data
• Authentication credentials
• Financial or payment information
• Health information
• Any personally identifiable information beyond name and job title

4. AI Processing

The AI model (Gemma) is downloaded once from HuggingFace CDN and cached locally in your browser using IndexedDB. After the initial download:

• All AI inference runs locally in your browser
• No text or email content is sent to any external server
• Generated emails exist only in memory and are discarded when you close the panel

5. External Communications

The only external network communication is:

• AI model download: One-time download from HuggingFace CDN (~2.8GB)
• Chrome Web Store: License verification for premium features

No user-generated content is ever transmitted externally.

6. Data Storage

• chrome.storage.local: Profile, settings, usage counter (device only)
• IndexedDB: Cached AI model weights (device only)
• chrome.storage.sync: Not used (to prevent data from being sent to Google servers)

7. Third-Party Services

MailCraft AI does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share any data with third parties.

8. Children's Privacy

MailCraft AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your Rights

You can delete all stored data at any time by:

• Removing the extension from Chrome (deletes all local data)
• Clearing browser data for the extension

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
